When I launch Windows at the desktop, my computer occasionally lags, especially during intense gaming sessions. The system runs with a 3070ti processor, Ryzen 7 5700X, Bequiet cooler, 16GB RAM, and a Samsung EVO 860 SSD as the main drive. I’m also using a Dominator 3000MHz with 1080p games on a three-monitor setup. I’ve been trying virus scans, updating Windows, and searching for solutions for about four months, but nothing has worked so far. I’d really appreciate any suggestions if anyone knows what might be causing this issue.

I'm using a standard power supply, but I can adjust it based on your needs.

Here are some suggestions:
- Check the temperatures of the CPU and GPU.
- Confirm if the Wallpaper Engine starts automatically at boot and runs continuously in the background.
- Verify that all drivers are up to date.
- Ensure the BIOS is installed with the latest version.
- Use the Windows Event Viewer to look for any errors.

The updates refer specifically to GPU drivers. Your CPU and GPU temperatures are within normal ranges, but the wallpaper engine might still be causing performance concerns. Disabling it could help resolve the issue. Restarting may clear any lingering problems.

He’s experiencing high CPU usage due to the wallpaper engine, even though his CPU has only four cores and four threads.

I plan to turn off ftpm in my BIOS, as it might lead to stuttering on AMD processors.

On the desktop, I'm seeing just 13 percent CPU utilization.
