I've tried several times to update the BIOS on my son's CyberPower Prebuilt with an ASROCK B450M Pro4-CB motherboard, but it didn't work. Now I'm considering upgrading the board itself so he can run his new 5600X. He needs Micro ATX and will use Corsair Vengeance DDR4 3600Mhz RAM without overclocking the CPU. Ideally, a model that comes ready to go but might need a BIOS flash if it saves time compared to another option. I'm a bit concerned about the price of the Amazon deal for his B550 PRO4, but I'm not sure if it's worth it.

I just 'assumed' and clearly incorrectly that the way the case is laid out would only work with Micro ATX Keep in mind I have no hardware for the case so if it needs additional screws or standoffs that don't come with the motherboard I don't have them. Would ATX bring it to that hole I see above the ketchup and mustard cables? Would trying to cable manage that into that same slot be difficult? Once again, new to building and while I've watched a ton of videos I'm still piecing my first build together waiting on a GPU so haven't actually done it yet. His build is my trial run at learning this stuff.
The main change between regular ATX and standard mATX is the board size. Instead of 9.6"x9.6", it becomes 9.6"x12" and goes down longer. There are three holes along the bottom where the motherboard meets the power supply, allowing for additional standoffs at the end. These standoffs are inexpensive on Amazon if needed. Connecting the front panel headers can be a bit tougher due to the tighter space, but it seems your son’s hands should make the job easier than yours.

Good luck then! It’s not too challenging with them in place. I’m a bit above average hand size—about 8 inches from the bottom of the palm to the top of the middle finger—and I can still manage without much effort, though I’ve done this over ten times now and probably learned a few tricks along the way.
