Microstuttering throughout each chapter of Metro 2033 (excluding Redux)
Microstuttering throughout each chapter of Metro 2033 (excluding Redux)
The title clearly indicates the issue, and the microstuttering becomes apparent even in the options menu. Here’s what I attempted so far... - Lowered video quality to low, keeping advanced DX11 settings like depth of field and tessellation disabled. - Reduced game resolution. - Turned off Advanced PhysX. - Restricted FPS with MSI Afterburner to ease CPU strain. - Kept all cores active. I’m currently running a Gateway DX4885-UB3A, which can only be upgraded to an EVGA GTX 750 Ti. Besides the new graphics card, the system includes an Intel Core i5 4440 up to 3.3 GHz, 8 GB DDR3 RAM, and a Seagate 1TB HDD spinning at 7200 RPM.
Sadly it's a weak game engine and I can't suggest anyone to try the original on PC due to its low quality. Go for the Redux version instead. The latest update looks identical, so avoid getting the newer release. Even on my machine, I can't play the original on the original engine. Edited October 13, 2014 by SeanBond
Turn off V-sync and, if necessary, adjust configurations in the NVIDIA control panel.
I don't understand what you're doing incorrectly, but I can set my system to 2560x1440 at a stable 50FPS. EDIT-Looks like the issue might come from NVIDIA drivers clashing with the game. This post was taken from a Steam forum. Also, consider disabling 2 cores or enabling hyperthreading.
I came across this discussion from 2013 on the GeForce forums. It seems to relate to the Metro 2033 game experiencing severe stuttering issues that didn’t get resolved. Since I don’t have a NVIDIA graphics card, I wasn’t able to confirm or clarify anything further.
I’m going to explain it once more—it’s the game engine. You can’t fix anything. I’ve spent hours trying to figure out the problem. I don’t know anyone who has played 2033 without just dealing with the microstutter. If you truly want it gone, you need the redux. There’s nothing that will make it disappear.
