My Mac Mini used Microsoft Word back when it was new. Now it starts freezing after a while and I force quit the app. The saved files work, but problems happen when I do nothing for hours. What causes this? How can I test it?

Is this a bad install or a glitch in an Apple Mac app? Did you try taking it out and putting it back? Which version of Microsoft Word are you using, and did you get it from somewhere else?

I forgot to include this fix. The software is version 16.58, and it's already been one year since that release. Glitches keep happening for almost a week straight. Even after trying to reinstall, the freezing isn't super common, but I have no choice except to force quit now.
