So a bit of background here first I work with Microsoft Teams, but inside our VM Teams doesn't have the feature to share my display with audio, and this is already a problem that my company has to deal with But we have found (actually i did) a workaround, if we go outside the vm with our Teams Meeting Link and we get presenter permissions in the meeting we can do it I always did like this and we use this a lot Since i got a fairly decent gaming PC when I try to access Teams in a webbrowser and i try to share my screen with audio Teams gives me a error "Could find your camera" and it does nothing I know its something with my machine, I already went from Windows 11 to Windows 10 to try, it didn't work Tried disabling AMD Privacy View (it creates some sort of virtual camera) it didn't work I don't have any webcam connected to this PC Edit: Tested in multiple browsers I really need some help and teams/microsoft forums don't help me
Consider setting up OBS (Open Broadcasting Software) for free, creating any scene or source you like for testing. In the lower-right corner of the interface, locate the "start virtual camera" button and activate it. Then open Teams and verify that the message no longer reads "couldn't find your camera." Ensure your browser has the necessary permissions to access cameras and audio. If issues persist, try using different browsers like Firefox, Chrome, or Edge to see which works best. When testing on a personal computer, you should still be able to download the official Teams app for additional testing if needed.
I considered using OBS but decided against it. I already set all security settings in Chrome and tried several browsers. Downloading the official Teams app isn’t a good fit since it demands a lot of setup to manage my computer. I prefer not to handle that for work. I’ll try OBS and share my thoughts here, thanks.
Did you allow the web browser access for your camera? You must grant security rights to your camera, even if you don’t plan to use it. Verify your privacy settings in Windows as well to ensure nothing is restricted. If this applies to work, request a functional laptop or alternative device from them instead of installing Teams on your personal computer. It shouldn’t be overly complicated or require you to do excessive tasks just to set up Teams. The only capabilities IT would have are remotely deleting the app and wiping data if you leave or are terminated. (Unless they need full Intune integration with your system.) Which web browsers have you used?
