I don’t mind having it dropped from Windows by default, though I’d prefer it to be an optional setup. There are still a few quirks that depend on IE functioning. For instance, some older cameras need a plugin only available in IE. (Firefox and Chrome have versions, but they’re outdated.) The same goes for certain legacy enterprise equipment—like very old 7-10 year models. I’ve also noticed old phone systems and HVAC units requiring IE too. While it’s manageable to run a VM of Windows 7 or an older Windows 10 version, it’s much simpler to just look for Internet Explorer and get what you need.
