Absolutely, Libre Office is clearly the superior choice overall. I found it amusing when I learned about 3D models in documents—when was the last time you needed that while writing a letter? Regarding professional use, avoid creating your CV in Libre Office and sending it to recruiters; it often looks sloppy. Pro tip: never submit your CV in Libre Office, as it tends to cause confusion for hiring managers. If Windows shifts to a subscription model, I’m planning a full switch to Linux—games aside, I’m already leaning that way.

Same as before, just until they pull the plug on 7. I’ll upgrade to 8.1 until that happens. In short, we’ll end up in the same situation with Linux. I’m just worried these rumors might have been true. It’s not my idea.

I'm going to keep using Windows7 mostly, as it pulls me away from my burning computer.

I've been using a dual boot setup for nearly a year, across both my personal and professional computers. The main issue I face is the limitation of running only Windows-only games on my home PC, while my work machine runs mostly in Windows as well.

Steam seems to be maintaining support for Linux, encouraging more creators to develop ports. Windows remains one of the few operating systems with a vast game library.
