Microsoft is likely to discontinue Windows 7 soon.
I truly believe Microsoft should discontinue Windows 7 in 2020. It once reached its peak. Now it’s time to close it down. Currently, modern systems can’t run on Windows 7—like the 7th and 8th generation Intel processors—which trigger the error: "The processor is not supported with the Windows version you’re using." Officially, the free upgrade to Windows 10 was completed on July 29, 2016. Source: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help...pgrade-faq
Never really enjoyed Windows 7, honestly. But I decided to keep support for Windows 8. Updated on February 25, 2019 by The Friendly Elite.
Hey, right now I’m stuck with my current OS. I think I should switch to Windows 10. I hope Microsoft will make it free if they stop supporting Windows 7. Once I’m done, I’ll move on.
they received a complimentary upgrade, not a free upgrade. It's actually the Windows 10 disk image. If your current Windows is activated or you got the OS with a key, it should work. That’s how I upgraded my Windows 7 OptiPlex 780.
