Hello everyone,
I’m experiencing problems with Gears of War 4 and 5 on my GTX 1080 hybrid Evga FTW card. Every time I try to play the game, I switch drivers as others have done before. Everything seems fine when Gears 5 was released, but now the old issues from Gears 4 are reappearing. I’m encountering blue screens, freezing, and crashes that force me to close the game and restart Windows.

I haven’t found any solution to improve my performance in Gears 5, except for a specific driver that helped with Gears 4. Recently, this has started happening again after a couple of months. Customer support suggests upgrading to a 20 series card, but I don’t have the funds for a 2080 upgrade. My 1080 is performing well in other games, but not in this one. Nvidia seems aware of the problem with 10 series cards, yet there’s no upgrade or rebate available for owners of that series.

I’m wondering what I should do next?
Thanks for taking a look at my post.

Verify system stability? Reduce frequency details slightly, like 100MHz on GPU core and memory, and skip XMP profiles if applicable.

Sorry to hear this. I didn't have any problems running GOW4 on my 1070. It ran very smoothly. You might want to lower some of your game settings to make it easier and more playable.
