Micro stuttering Strix 3080 with strong PC performance
I own a 3080 OC Strix White Edition and encountered this issue recently. After updating with Alan Wake 2, it stopped working properly. It ran smoothly for a while before experiencing micro stutters, then gradually lost frame rate until restarting. I heard a coil whine that matched each stutter and when switching graphics options. According to some sources, the noise comes from power drawn by the coils, so reducing that noise should help stabilize the GPU. I also wanted to improve energy efficiency—my system uses a 2950x processor but a 1000W PSU can handle it, though power costs matter. I use Afterburner for fine-tuning and lowered the Power Limit to 60-70%, increased voltage (maxed), boosted core clock by 200, and memory by 1000. The whine disappeared and stability improved significantly. Undervolting didn’t help with the noise, but it did affect power consumption overall.
