Micro spikes and frame skipping occur in nearly every game.
I've been noticing micro spikes in my graphics card after upgrading. It's not impossible to play, but it's noticeable and affects the overall feel. These spikes occur every few seconds, causing a brief drop in smoothness for just a fraction of a second before returning. FPS stays steady with no interruptions. In Fortnite it's less obvious, but in PUBG it's more apparent. For COD Black Ops 3 I don't see any spikes at all. Probably not related to my internet connection. My ping remains stable around 60-80. I haven't experienced FPS or stutter issues in CS, though for about a week it became unplayable with significant frame skipping. After switching the GPU, performance returned to normal. I haven't altered any software settings or hardware since the upgrade, so it's unclear what caused this issue. My system specs are: Windows 10 64-bit, CPU i7 4770K, GPU Asus GTX1080TI (upgraded from GTX 770), motherboard MSI Z97 gaming, 2x8GB DDR3 CL10 RAM at 1866MHz, power supply Corsair CX750m SSD, and a Samsung 860 EVO 250GB HDD. I've followed troubleshooting steps: updated BIOS, moved games to different drives (including system SSD), enabled Intel integrated graphics, turned off all power-saving modes, checked DPC latency (average score 1000, possibly not compatible with Windows 10), installed and updated drivers, removed GPU drivers via DDU, reinstalled without 3D or NVIDIA sound.
Check DPC using http://www.resplendence.com/latencymon. Run LatencyMon in windowed/borderless mode. Test the game with FRAPS, then generate a timing graph with FRAFS.
I verified the DPC latency remains consistent near 50-60 ms. Performed a benchmark in PUBG at 1920x1080 with ultra settings.
I just checked Call of Duty Ghost and Black Ops 3; they’re working smoothly, but I’m not sure it’s the internet issue—like in CS, the problems persist even when offline with bots.
