I was playing Modern Warfare 2 mid game when my microphone stopped working for voice chat. I tried using the mic test in MW2 settings, but it didn’t pick up any sound. The mic functions in other games and apps. I’ve done everything I could—restarted all MW2 settings, confirmed the correct mic was selected, reinstalled drivers, etc. Activision hasn’t responded yet. Any suggestions?

Hey there,
Are your chipset drivers current? What about the BIOS? Which ones are you using? I see, it's F13. I recommend upgrading to F15E since there are known issues in version 1.2.0.3. The newer BIOS should also fix the stuttering fTPM problem. You might not be seeing it, though.

I heard some whispers about voice chat restrictions in MWII. Since I don’t often speak much and don’t use toxic VoIP, I looked into it. There were no bans reported by Activision.

Was die CMOS nach dem BIOS-Update bereinigt? Falls nicht, müssen Sie das tun.

Yes, I cleared the CMOS. The mic functions for all other tasks. I attended two team meetings yesterday using the mic. It works in Division 2 and during other games. This update came before and after the bios release. The mic stopped mid-game in MWII, but Activision confirmed I’m not on the voice ban list.

the privacy options indicate that mw2 did not have access to the microphone starting on 11/30, which coincides with its shutdown. This might provide some hints.
