Running a streaming setup with OBS and a Vocaster One mixer connected via USB-C to a Windows PC is working, but the XLR mic sometimes drops unexpectedly. Audio enters the mixer, yet not into the PC in OBS or Discord. The issue appears when nothing seems to trigger it, even during idle periods. Switching cables helps temporarily, but the USB-C connection still fails intermittently. I've also tried a different mixer before and faced the same problem—what could be missing?

Where exactly is the USB-C cable attached? Is it on the front panel or right into the motherboard? Does it need a direct USB-C connection or a USB-C to A adapter? I checked the manufacturer’s site and found it needs 900mA power. For a standard USB-A 2.0 port it uses 500mA, while USB 3.0+ requires 900mA or more. A USB charging port could work too. If nothing helps, consider using legacy Windows USB drivers. Also see this discussion:

The USB-C to USB-C connection is active on the front panel now, yet it previously worked when plugged into the rear port.

I'm not sure about the differences right now. This USB-C port seems distinct from the regular USB-C port on your PC. I plan to use the drivers next time I'm using it.

Modern PCs and motherboards include charging ports, such as 2.1A or 2100mA. These are often labeled with a battery symbol or similar indicator.

I didn’t know this was possible. I’ll look into it. If not, what other options exist to add more power to the mixer?
