I discovered ideal configurations (for me) 5800x3d rtx 3070, blending high/mid/low modes (textures mesh on high/highest), FSR! framegen, even RT (on low)... performance sits between 80 and 110fps... But then I cap it at 60 fps with Riva Tuner and it feels noticeably smoother (my monitor is 120Hz, 90-100 fps just looks choppy and messy). With a frame limit of 60, it even reduces GPU usage by about 50w—win-win for me! If anyone wants my exact settings, let me know. PS: over 8 GB VRAM!!!
It did run terrible for older GPUs, low fps, shitty texture thanks to RE engine. The HD texture pack could be a CPU killer which makes my 5600 cpu usage rise to 90%-100% occasionally, and this causes frequent stutters. But it's still the best MH game i've ever played, by now i have spent 50+ hours hunting monsters and reached HR110 Still waiting for its DLC.
You can achieve 60 frames with or without RT on your 5800x3d/3070, but you'll notice stutters that vary depending on camera movement. At 60fps it feels sluggish even with frame generation, while at around 70-90fps it runs smoothly and responsively. On your laptop with the R9 7945hx/4070, performance stays consistent and feels snappy, whereas RT still causes noticeable lag and blurriness on the NVIDIA GPU. It seems the difference matters to you, so using frame generation is essential.
