I received MGSV with my EVGA 970 GTX during the purchase of my new system. Testing it didn’t yield good results, even at the lowest settings I used around 30 frames per second. I looked through YouTube reviews to see if the issue was specific to the PC version of the game, but most seemed to report solid performance on a 970. One user mentioned playing with a 970 and achieving about 60 FPS at 1080p. It’s hard to pinpoint the problem, so if you have any insights, I’d really appreciate it. Here’s my setup: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/RHrGgs Help is much appreciated! Sincerely, a noob

It's true that MGS5 performs well, though I've encountered some problems. It might be due to using older cards. What CPU model are you running? MGS is quite sensitive to CPU choices.

Did the game use its standard configurations or were specific adjustments made beforehand?

Verify your configuration to ensure it isn't locked at 30fps and v-sync is turned off.

There’s an issue with your drivers or configuration. I usually maintain around 60fps at 1080p on my 970strix, but I’ve adjusted the settings a bit (minus some AA and other preferences).

Review drivers and frame limits. Ensure AA isn't maxed or super sampling is active. Launch Nvidia G-force Experience and apply the optimized settings to assist in resolving any missed configuration issues. Your rig shouldn't hit the 60 fps cap unless AA filters or super sampling are enabled.

Your specs exceed mine, but I maintain a steady 60FPS without any drops. V-Sync is disabled and the frame rate auto-adjusts to 60 fps. Both of us use a Gigabyte G1 Gaming 970; we also have 8GB RAM and an i5-4690 (non-K). Many have noted the importance of keeping graphics drivers updated—they're quite significant.

970 plus i7 minus 3770 is here. Performance stays at 1080p60fps with 100% consistency.

There’s clearly something affecting drivers or configurations. My old GTX 770 works well with most settings turned up. The game automatically lowers two parameters to medium. I consistently hit around 60 FPS at 1920x1200, with only occasional minor drops.
