Metro's low frame rates are a concern. Need assistance improving performance!
Hello, I'm experiencing problems with Metro: Last Light. The game is running at around 8-9 FPS during the intro, and I'm following the settings you mentioned: 1920x1080 resolution, low quality, SSAA disabled, texture filtering at AF 4x, motion blur normal, tessellation off, and Vertical Sync off. It seems like the lowest possible configuration is being used. My graphics card is an EVGA GTX 660 Ti, and I'd appreciate any advice or confirmation if anything is wrong. Thanks!
CPU? Alright, double-check that all your drivers are current and not in beta.
My CPU is an i5 3570k running at 4.2GHz, I have the latest driver installed through GeForce Experience. I’ll check for Advanced PhysX; it doesn’t appear in the video settings, so I might need to switch to the main menu. Thank you for your fast responses.
I encountered this problem at that location, where the game would drop to around 15 frames per second before recovering. I discovered a patch but it disappeared over time. A clean install fixed it, though I’m not sure it will work for everyone.
Apologies for the repeated update, but I believe I fixed the issue. Turning off Advanced PhysX didn’t solve it, but I kept playing and eventually reached a point where my frame rates increased to 400+. After adjusting the settings, I’ve been maintaining around 70 fps. Thanks for your feedback. It’s strange the game was restricting the frame rate during the intro.
