Methods for increasing the default RAM speed.
Methods for increasing the default RAM speed.
Hey, my xfx rx 580 seems to not see that I play flash player games and keeps gpu and ram clock at idle state which is 300MHz each for RAM and GPU.
I know it's power management to make clocks low when not needed but my radeon software doesn't have any option to turn off that power efficiency thing.
I can open a youtube video in background to make my clocks higher but they're still not high enough to make my game perfectly fluent.
RAM clock is most important to me. Is there any option to make it stay high even while being idle?
Please help me
It appears that “doesn’t seem to” suggests a lack of observation. Simply use MSI Afterburner to verify this. When set to High Performance mode, the idle clock speed should typically be significantly elevated. Furthermore, if these games are accessed through a web browser, ensure your browser is up to date and that you clear your browsing history, as this can improve performance.
In Windows 10, enter “Power” in the search box and choose “Power & sleep settings,” followed by "Additional power settings." Select “Show additional plans” and then choose “High performance.”
However, utilizing this option will continuously operate your components at their highest capacity. I appreciate Nvidia graphics cards because you can utilize Nvidia Inspector to customize power management for individual games, selecting “Prefer maximum performance.” This ensures your hardware runs at full clock speeds when a game is active, but reverts to low power consumption upon closing it. This approach keeps your hardware cooler while performing general tasks and reduces strain on components, minimizing heat and degradation.
RadeonPro is the sole solution for AMD graphics cards offering similar functionality, though it appears to lack automatic power mode adjustments. At most, you can configure CPU affinity and disable Windows Aero.
My computer runs Windows 10 and I previously chose the highest performance setting, yet it appears to have no effect. Initially, I incorrectly believed the issue was related to RAM speed, but it’s actually concerning my graphics card memory clock. After researching extensively online, I'm disheartened and concerned that there may be no solution, so perhaps we should end this discussion.
It appears that the lack of a definite answer suggests a failure to observe it closely. Simply executing MSI Afterburner in High Performance mode will likely reveal a significantly elevated baseline speed. Furthermore, if these online games are accessed through a web browser, investigate whether your browser requires an upgrade and ensure that you erase your browsing history—this can also improve performance.
