There are more than ten missing pins, many of which are bent. I believe it was dropped several times. I’m nervous about using it with my motherboard. I won’t reveal where I got it to keep everyone safe in the trade, but please be careful. I’m not wealthy and just built my first rig, so this seems likely. This is what I’m hoping to purchase in a few weeks.
Newegg recently had some shady activity, which is why I’m sharing this for those new to building. I just wanted to warn against rushing purchases. One thing to notice is there’s a bent in a bent position somewhere.
I received two fresh images, and they really unsettle me. I don’t like seeing them. I purchased them using my mobile card, assuming he wouldn’t try to trick me.
Newegg accidentally got involved in their supply chain... Someone dropped by during the process. I noticed your latest photos. Where did you purchase this item? That CPU won't function properly. You might attempt repairs, but it would be challenging. Did you buy it brand new? If yes, you might be able to show proof of purchase and request a replacement.
I’m not very experienced with this. I watched Linus’s full-length video about fixing a CPU and was really nervous watching it. I got the item from a site similar to Craigslist, where I met the seller and he handed it over to me. Today he sent two messages: first, he offered a refund but didn’t say when to meet up. He also didn’t mention wanting it returned, so if he does give me a refund and lets me keep it, I’ll just give it away to someone who wants to try fixing it.
I didn't verify the CPU during the purchase, which was an oversight.
What processor is it? It could easily become a lovely necklace or keychain if you're not too picky.
