today my microsoft surface pro 8 showed a slow charger warning, repeated reboots didn’t fix it, and the battery keeps draining without charging properly.

You likely have Smart Charging active. Turn it off by opening the Surface app and setting the battery to 100%. If not, the charging device may be defective. Reach out to Surface Support to explore available solutions in your area.

Consider sanitizing your charging port and the device itself. Ideally, it's only a matter of dirt.

That's awesome, it really did! I actually purchased two fresh chargers since I believed they weren't working.
