Message about fTPM appearing after motherboard replacement
Hello,
I set up a new motherboard without replacing the CPU. The system displays a warning message during every boot: "New CPU installed, fTPM/PSP NV corrupted or fTPM/PSP NV structure changed." If you press Y, it will reset the fTPM; if BitLocker or encryption is active, the system won't start without a recovery key. Choosing N keeps the old fTPM intact and allows normal booting, though TPM-related keys and data may be lost. I’m unsure about the long-term effects of disabling fTPM permanently. I considered turning it off and back on, but I want to understand the consequences better.
Changed from an ASUS B650E-F to an ASUS Crosshair X870E Hero. BIOS version is 1203.
English and German keyboards swap the positions of 'Y' and 'Z'. Trying to press 'Z' might work, but it depends on your specific keyboard and language settings.
