I have a Corsair Vengeance LX 8GB RAM with 3200MHz DDR4, and I'm planning to add a 16GB version. Both use the same model and die, but the RAM sizes differ. Could this affect stability?

My high-performance NAS supports 2x8GB and 2x16GB sticks. It uses Flex mode, giving you dual-channel up to 16GB, then switches to single-channel beyond that. This setup is quite advanced. Some problems might appear occasionally, but they’re usually temporary. Give it a try and reset CMOS if needed. I personally can’t enable XMP over 3000MHz in my configuration.

The problem stemmed from having 16GB of RAM built into a different die, which might be the cause. Also, I'm unsure if adding another 8GB of the same die from the same brand would lead to stability problems.

When they match, the solution should function properly. If not, it's unlikely to work smoothly.

The exact part number for both sticks is 12345, and the version number is 2.0.
