Hello everyone. Frequent BSODs have made me investigate possible causes. I experience a crash roughly once every few months. It varies each time, but I suspect it might be linked to my RAM. After checking here and in other hardware communities, I ran Memtest86 which stopped after several minutes because of excessive errors (over 10k). My system: Ryzen 5 3600 ASUS TUF B450M Plus Gaming Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 DRAM 3200MHz C16 EVGA RTX 2070 Super Antec EA750G Pro 750W Gold Win 10 Pro 2004. All components are around ten months old. I didn’t overclock anything—just enabled RAM DOCP to support 3200Mhz. I installed the RAM properly, though I’m unsure about slot placement (slot 2 and 4? First slot from CPU, then second stick in the fourth). All drivers are up-to-date, including chipset and BIOS. I wasn’t thinking of replacing it unless I wanted to save another $100–150. I’m not sure if I should go for new RAM or try other fixes first. Any recommendations?

Check RAM sticks at 3000 MHz or 2933 MHz. Once stable, proceed to 3200 MHz with tighter timings (cl18 or cl19).

Start by testing each stick separately to confirm if only one is faulty. Generally, most RAM sold to buyers performs well, with reliability depending more on initial setup and pricing than on long-term issues. The early failure of your unit seems likely due to chance.

I recall Corsair offers an extended warranty for its RAM products. It's recommended to reach out to Corsair for assistance.

Use one stick at a time, reset the CMOS, then attempt to configure the SOC to 1.1 with DRAM set to 1.35. After that, try 3000/2933 and see if it works.

Consider turning off DOCP completely for full JEDEC performance. If it improves, we can assist with stabilizing RAM at 3200.

The memory seems unreliable unless the controller on your 3600 is faulty, which is more probable. Send in a return merchandise authorization for the memory module, or attempt to run it at reduced speed/looser timings and/or adjust the voltage. It won't be perfect, but it should function at least temporarily. Just don’t expect it to last without further issues.

Purchased it from Amazon but I’ll look into it later. No worries, I’ll consider it. How significant would using cl19 be in terms of performance impact? Maybe a bit.

Sure, I'd like to avoid BSODs moving forward and might consider purchasing new units instead of searching for the ideal voltage settings. I'll look into it, thanks! Dramas is currently at 1.35. I'm not sure about the SOC yet, I'll check later.

Have you considered swapping out the memory modules?
