I think you mean a page file. It will consume space from your chosen drive and utilize it. I wouldn't adjust any configurations—keep it as it is. When memory is limited, simply acquire another memory card (based on your setup).

No, expanding the pagefile isn't beneficial. Also, don't try to control it manually; let Windows handle it.
