Hey everyone, I'm trying to restore my RAM to 8Gb on this laptop that runs Linux inside a VM. I moved the OS from another PC to this machine, so there shouldn't be any leftover VM files. Yet the RAM still shows up as only 5.3Gb in the Services menu. I've tried cleaning things up, but nothing seems to free the full 8GB. Any suggestions would be really appreciated!

From the right side, you notice 5.3Gb of RAM is set aside for hardware, like integrated graphics. Press the start button, type "msconfig," when the System configuration window appears, go to the "Boot" tab, click "Advanced Options," uncheck the box labeled "Maximum Memory," then click OK, Apply, and OK again. Restart your PC; this should fix the issue.
