A challenge that persists for a few weeks already. While playing games, my GPU usage falls to 0-5%, which drops my FPS from 400 to just 5~ for a short while or so. Occasionally I managed to play for an hour without any stutters, but other times it just freezes completely. The situation varies depending on the game—Overwatch tends to freeze heavily, while Marvel crashes outright. My initial guess was overheating, so I checked the temperatures: CPU is under 90°C, GPU under 80°C. RAM passed all tests I ran for hours. The disk health looks good at 80% in CrystalDiskInfo. I’ve tested my CPU and GPU for hours without any issues or abnormal temperatures. I started with a fresh Windows installation, removed any background processes, used no Razer software, nothing else.

PC Specifications:
GPU: Gigabyte GTX 1080 Windforce OC 8gb GDDR5X
CPU: Ryzen 5800X3D
Motherboard: MSI B450 Gaming Plus
RAM: HyperX DDR4-3200 16384MB
Storage: Samsung 970 EVO 500GB NVMe M.2 / Win11
So far, I’ve tried:
Running multiple benchmarks on CPU, GPU and RAM
Reinstalling Windows
Swapping PSU
Disconnecting every disk except SSD
DDU reinstalling drivers
Using debug mode in Nvidia Control Panel to lower the factory overclocked GPU to founders edition level
Using only one stick of RAM (Tried both)
Disabling core isolation in Windows
Disabling XMP
Disabling GPU scheduling
Disconnecting everything except mouse & keyboard
Reseating my GPU and RAM
Limiting FPS
Resetting BIOS

Marvel rivals crashes with this error in the event viewer, which to my knowledge just means GPU usage dropped to 0% suddenly, and doesn't really mean anything?

The description for Event ID 0 from source nvlddmkm isn’t available. It could be that the component triggering this event isn’t installed on your machine or the installation is corrupted. You might want to install or fix it locally.

Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has now recovered.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated, if you can provide even a hint about why this might occur would be helpful.

Checking for recent files in C:\Windows\Minidump and C:\Windows\MEMORY.DMP on cloud storage like Google Drive, OneDrive, or Dropbox and providing the link if found.
