Memory issues after installing new RAM

I recently upgraded with some new RAM sticks (two x8GB) and installed them. After playing games, the system would randomly freeze and need a restart. I suspect dual channel configuration might be the issue. The two sticks function normally otherwise. Here are your specs: motherboard Gigabyte F2A78M-HD2, AMD A10-7890K @ 4.3 GHz, DDR3 at 1600 MHz, GPU AMD Radeon RX 570 8GB, DDR3, 1TB SSD, 700W power supply.

Are you aligning the RAM modules properly? Different brands have unique layouts for dual channels, and most recent systems feature dual-colored connectors or clear markings on the motherboard.

I have two slots instead of four, and there’s no issue—just a freeze.

Explore the system details and look for a RAM section (varies by brand). Verify compatibility with 16GB memory and confirm the clock speed is accurate. Since I haven’t serviced a PC recently where BIOS setup was needed, I’d rely on Facesauceome’s guidance more than my own.
