OS: Windows 11 Pro
GPU: AMD Sapphire 7900X OC
CPU: i7 14700KF
Power Supply: MSI Mag 850G
There’s been a problem since installation. I was warned I’m on my own because I bought from a scalper on eBay. The seller refused to honor the warranty—they only accept returns from the original buyer, and they don’t transfer them. I’ve made some adjustments to lower the GPU temperatures significantly, but even with Minecraft, the memory and memory junctions still reach 95°C. After watching Linus’s tutorial, I upgraded to three K5 PRO units and followed his steps, yet the temps remain high. The backplate gets extremely hot, making it impossible to touch near the memory chips. Do you have any options left, or am I stuck without a warranty on something I purchased two weeks ago?

The 95C on memory and memory junction for a 7900 XTX is safely within acceptable ranges, and many systems handle this temperature well. Running at these levels wouldn’t have caused any issues. It might have helped to slightly boost the fan speed, which would have been ideal. No unnecessary worry here.

I and my colleague purchased the same card that handles 83°C under load. I expected the K5 to drop mine slightly at least, but never experienced such extreme heat—it felt unhandable. Before this model, I used a Zotac 3090TI Amp Extreme which performed well and stayed cool. Additionally, I have my AC running directly on the card.

Your cooler feels a bit off and performs worse than the standard Plus model. Placing more paste inside won’t fix it. However, your temperatures are within normal ranges—no major concerns here.

The Stock cooler was handling a GPU temperature of 68°C during BO6 playback, while the Jank cooler was running at 56°C on BO6. For the paste, they recommended applying a thicker layer for the K5, and the Memory reached 100°C on the Warthunder.

Perhaps the stock cooler performed better in terms of memory management. The 68°C GPU temperature is still acceptable, with the Asus TUF 7900XT supporting up to 72°C and 96°C under load. The main drawback is the noisy fans.

The issue lies with the shroud connections that block nearly half the fins on each side of the card, limiting airflow. I removed it entirely to install my own and will now test it.
