Hi there, I'm trying to upgrade my Ryzen 7 2700X and Asus Crosshair VI Extreme X370. I currently use an 8GB Corsair Vengeance Lpx stick (CMK8GX4M1DD3000C16), but the memory specs on the Asus site seem outdated and the parts aren't available for purchase anymore. Could you suggest where I might find a more current compatibility list or modern kits that are supported? Your advice would be really appreciated!

You're likely going to hit memory limits similar to what Ryzen1000-2000 faced with higher speeds, leading to problems for most CPUs except a few that could manage 3000/3200. You might be able to purchase 3200 DDR4 and manually adjust the clock speed to 2933 if you can't find a better price.

It looks like you've already checked the QVL, but I shouldn't dismiss it just because it's a bit old. The chip claims a max of 2933 MHz, though some manage to push it higher—though I wouldn't recommend it. I experienced similar problems with a 5900X on a B550 for the same reason, and the Patriot Viper 4 Blackout (PVB432G320C6K) helped fix them. A Patriot Viper Steel kit is also available (PVS432G320C6K). If DOCP is turned off, these kits should operate at 2666 MHz without it, which isn't too different. My Asus board's QVL suggested timings of 16-18-18-36 at 1.35V, but DOCP wouldn't recognize them, so I had to adjust manually. One of these kits might work fine without DOCP, or just cap the frequency at 2933. Updated September 10, 2022 by An0maly_76 – more info

Got inconsistent outcomes around 2933, roughly 80% consistency. The 2866 at 1.37v using 16-18-18-36 was the most stable setting.

I'll check the Patriot kits. My current setup uses 3000MHz but lacks DOCP, which drops it to 2133MHz—still unstable. I’ll skip purchasing RAM above 2933MHz for this configuration.
