Hello, I'm having an issue with my memory clock. My system uses g.skill Trident Z Rgb 3600MHz CL16 with settings 16-18-18-39. I loaded the XMP profile in BIOS, but the memory only shows 3200MHz even though it's set to 3600MHz. The BIOS lists 3200MHz, HWINFO and CPU Z. Later, I saw RAM readings at 3866MHz and 17-19-19-42, and all tools displayed a clock of 3466MHz. Also, with Prime95 after 10 minutes, a core stopped when the main thread reported a fatal error. My CPU is i5-9600K and motherboard is Gigabyte Z390 AORUS Elite. I tried BIOS versions f9 and f10c but had the same problem. It would be great if someone could assist me. The BIOS is stock, all components are new, and I don't have any parts to replace easily.

Uncertain if you've verified the support RAM list for that motherboard? Some boards won't accept certain memory types at particular speeds. https://www.gigabyte.com/ca/Motherboard/...upport-doc I own a B350 AM4 board with Trident Z RGB 2x8GB 3200 kit. It took nearly 1.5 years of BIOS updates to reach 2933, not even hitting 3200 despite adjusting timings and voltages. Before those updates, the RAM only ran at default 2133 and still caused blue screens occasionally. Once I switched to an approved kit with the latest beta BIOS, I could run at 3200 without issues. I don’t use XMP profiles—just set the speed to 3200 or 3600 and manually adjust voltage (typically 1.35v–1.4v on the modules). Set timings yourself; start at 2933 and gradually increase until the system fails, then reduce by one level and run stress tests like Cinebench. The latest BIOS definitely helps. Edit: When I assembled my PC, I visited (now closed) NCIX and bought components off the shelf. I knew what I needed, but assumed compatibility would be confirmed. I realized then that some sellers didn’t have this information, leading to many problems—and I asked you the same question a couple of years ago.
