I'm setting up an all-AMDG build and face issues with RAM selection. I understand the difference between XMP and EXPO, but when checking the Corsair 6000mhz 32GB kit, I see two versions: one XMP certified for $132 CAD and another EXPO certified for $155 CAD. Should I purchase the EXPO model or can I apply EXPO profiles to the XMP version? Also, since everything is AMD, would the EXPO certified kit be preferable? I'm planning to use a 7800X3D with the AsRock x670 Steel motherboard.

I’ll share what I’ve noticed from observing people build Zen4 over the past few months. Avoid Corsair, as it seems to dominate many users despite mixed opinions on XMP/Expo setup. Those with memory concerns usually use Corsair DDR5. On the other hand, the G.Skill kit offers a more affordable option and supports EXPO, which could give you a smoother experience. This set is likely to use Hynix M or A dies, making it a solid choice if you plan to go beyond EXPO later. If you’re willing to explore further, it should handle overclocking well.

Absolutely avoid Corsair and their nonsense. My thoughts keep circling back to marketing. The same applies to Bose—selling clocks, car stereos, and speakers for years.

Many discussions revolve around DDR4 and DDR5 experiences, especially with Corsair Vengeance on AM4 platforms.

They've had issues with their lower-cost DDR4 components for a while. I was hoping to try DDR5, but it seems many builders keep running into problems with Corsair's DDR5 kits even on the newest AM5 BIOS versions. At this point, I just try to suggest alternatives that are typically more affordable.

Intel and AMD (AM4 / AM5) have consistently offered G. Skill a 1-click ease of use. I fully support your suggestion for the Flare X5 models. I’d be willing to purchase them to replace my CL36.
