During my childhood, I frequently spent time indoors with limited financial resources. I primarily engaged with demo versions of popular games rather than purchasing them outright. Reflecting on this period evokes many positive recollections, though they often consisted of brief segments from complete games that I never fully experienced. Here’s a list of demos I distinctly recall:
Crusader: No Remorse (DOS)
Tribes 2 (Windows)
Super Runabout (Dreamcast)
Virtua Tennis (Dreamcast)

Do you recall other game demos that you fondly remember or perhaps even prefer to full-fledged games?

I frequently engaged with the original Doom demonstration on Macintosh systems. My initial Mac unit included a demonstration disc, containing Prince of Persia and a helicopter-themed game that I enjoyed considerably. Additionally, there was a Dynasty Warriors title available for PlayStation 2, which I often played through its demo version. Primarily, I would purchase games if they piqued my interest following a trial experience.
