Hey everyone, I’ve been using McAfee for a while now. People often express their dissatisfaction with it, and I agree it doesn’t always meet expectations. The performance is slow, which is frustrating. I also noticed it struggles on older systems even after upgrading hardware. My main concern is security—especially since I recently got an antivirus that performed well against an Interpol virus.

I’m curious about Malwarebytes. Does it work well alongside McAfee? Or would you need to turn off certain features, like real-time scanning, to avoid conflicts? I want to make sure my protection isn’t compromised.

Malwarebytes will take over from McAfee. Simply remove that unwanted software and install Malwarebytes or Avast of your choice. Choose whichever suits you best.

It's best to remove McAfee entirely—it doesn't provide much value.

I just thought about it. Last year we got a one-year license for Kaspersky with my motherboard Asus Maximus Vi Hero. People say you can skip McAfee and Malwarebytes, right? Kaspersky is decent, at least that’s what I’ve heard, so extra protection from this software would be nice for the computer, wouldn’t it?

You can activate Kaspersky for real-time defense, but I’m unsure about the process to claim a free year.

I believe I found a CD. There are some empty boxes in the attic, so I want to check if Malwarebytes and Kaspersky can work with it.

I usually stick to Avast instead of McAfee. Occasionally I run Malwarebytes for scans, which helps catch threats before they reach your system. If you're interested in a free option, you can download commonsense.exe from a resource like a gene pool.

Avast, MalwareBytes and McAfee all have solid reputations. If your PC is configured correctly and you apply basic judgment, you usually don’t require virus or malware protection.
