No, you cannot take the battery out of your laptop to run on electricity alone, because without its power source, the computer won't work at all.

Yeah, that works. But if you unplugged it, it would turn itself off or shut down badly. Since it gets its power from the outlet even while plugged in, you don't have to take out the battery because it's not really needed anymore.

Sometimes, likely. Just like this, most laptos won't start without a battery inside them.
