Maximum Speed Adjustment Option
Maximum Speed Adjustment Option
I've invested several hours tonight trying to locate a tool that will switch my PC's power settings from Balanced to High Performance only when certain applications are active. I favor High Performance mode during gaming because it pushes my CPU to its maximum clock speed, but when not playing games, I stick with Balanced to maintain cooler operation and prevent throttling. After hours of searching without success, I discovered "Full Throttle Override" – http://tringi.trimcore.cz/Full_Throttle_Override. It essentially lets you add executables to a list; when any of them run, it automatically switches to High Performance and reverts back once they stop. This matches exactly what I need. The challenge lies in managing the application list. Currently, it’s quite cumbersome—there’s no straightforward way to import or export programs. Each one added expands the entire context menu, making it difficult to add or remove without navigating through a long list. Removing an app requires right-clicking the tray icon and selecting it, then clicking remove, which closes the window entirely because it’s a context menu. Adding an app is similar: right-click the tray, click Add, locate the executable, and confirm. This process feels repetitive and frustrating. Exporting or importing such a list seems possible only through the registry, as the data is stored there rather than in a simple text file. I’m hoping for a solution that lets me select multiple programs at once, or even let me choose an entire folder so power mode changes automatically when any app runs from within it. This is something I’ve been searching for, and while Reddit hasn’t helped much, this forum might be the best place to find it.
