I purchased this powerline kit. It mentions a maximum speed of 600mbps in the description. When it arrived, it came with two Cat 5 cables. Amazon states that the Ethernet port supports only 100mbps, but I’m unsure if that’s accurate. Using Cat 5e cables for a gigabit connection could potentially reach closer to 600mbps, or is the port limited to 100mbps? Please let me know if you need advice on whether you should buy additional cables.

Yes, 100Mbit is accurate. It doesn't accommodate gigabit support. Also, cat 5 typically handles gigabit speeds.

If your internet speed stays under 100Mbps, the Ethernet restrictions shouldn’t cause issues. However, if speeds go beyond this range, you’ll be capped at 100Mbps. Additionally, LAN communication will also be constrained by this bandwidth. By the way, I don’t understand why such devices are needed. -_-
