The top q6600 overclock I've encountered reached 4.9ghz. But achieving anything close requires a premium gold CPU, the finest motherboard, and top-tier RAM.

I have q6600 but it struggles to exceed 3.6GHz. I'm using Windows 8 x64 Pro...my system is G0 with 400W and p5k-pro(8 phase) evo212. I believe the power supply unit might be the cause, as heat isn't an issue.
