max fps in CS:GO

Hey there, I’ve got this setup: a Core i5 4460, GTX 1070, 8GB video RAM, 8GB DDR, Acer Predator XB253Q monitor at 165Hz, and a Gigabyte H97M-HD3 board. I’m looking for the best upgrade to boost FPS consistently. I was using a 4K monitor before and now want to test at 165Hz. My budget is around 100€.

It seems you're asking about the memory capacity. Are you referring to 2x4GB or one 8GB RAM module?

You're likely close to 144 FPS, but the limited RAM, old platform, and CPU will negatively impact performance. The biggest improvement you can make right now is adding another DDR3 module.

Save up now, maybe upgrade later. That 5600x looks like the top CPU choice for CSGO at the moment (not the other Zen 3 ones).

I believe this path is right. Which DDR3 RAM model would suit this configuration? Also, if you struggle to maintain 165Hz consistently, should you adjust the clock speed settings?

I don’t know your RAM model, so I can’t give you exact numbers. Just let me know its speed and CAS latency, and I’ll help you decide. You can switch between 144 and 165 if needed.
