Hi everyone! I've tried pushing my I7-7700K a little bit faster. My cooler is the Cooler Master Hyper 212 LED, so it's not great for high overclocking temps. At full speed (4.4GHz), I'm seeing heat levels between 80 and 84 degrees Celsius. Those numbers aren't perfect, but are they safe? I ran a stress test using Intel's diagnostic tool. https://flic.kr/p/2jnFGPM Hi there, Job

You're fine if it's just running in the middle of the sixties, but setting it up for the eighties will make the computer work less long-term.

Those temps are a bit too hot if you want cooler ones. I'd choose a be quiet dark rock pro 4 or noctua nh-d15 because the 7700 is really hot. I would recommend a high-end AIO, but I am still an air guy. For daily work, I'm much happier with mid-range coolers than mid-high end ones.

Thanks for the advice! My temps while gaming are not higher than 65c. They only reached 80-84c when I stress tested my CPU. So they never get that hot while playing games or doing similar things. But in the future, I probably will buy a better cooler. Is this fine now? Or should I let my cpu slow down to 4.3ghz, or even go back to 4.2ghz (stock settings)?

If your computer runs in the middle of the 60s, things look good to me. But if it's too late and we're talking about the 80s, that will cut down how long the parts last.

Jobjanusz, even though your i7-7700K shows a throttle temp of 100°C on the screen, that's too hot for your computer. The best Core temperature range is between 80 and 85 degrees Celsius. If it gets hotter than 85°C or cooler than 80°C, you should be okay as long as the room stays around 72°F (about 22°C). Remember that these numbers change depending on how warm your room feels because of the International Standard for normal temperature.
