Hello everyone, regarding your MSi Tomahawk Max motherboard, it’s important to understand the RAM compatibility. Based on the specifications you provided, all four slots can be filled with DDR5 memory, but the actual speeds depend on the exact model and configuration. The MSi recommendations suggest maximum speeds of 7200MHz for the 32GB unit, so if you purchase two of those, you should expect around 7200MHz per slot. If you need higher performance, consider upgrading to a higher-speed RAM module or a different motherboard with better support. Let me know if you need more details!

Start with a simple setup. Four slots aren't necessary and can actually hinder your performance. If visual clarity is an issue, opt for a sturdy side panel. You don’t need a 7200 MHz frequency—stick to 6000 MHz CL 30. Higher frequencies bring minimal benefit and cause more problems. Check if you truly require 64 GB of RAM; most users only need around 32 GB for gaming and web browsing. If you exceed that, upgrade to two 48 GB modules. Four dimms will restrict you to about 5200 MHz or less, making it difficult to reach.

Thanks for the feedback. This setup works well for multiplayer DCS. No worries about RGB or showcasing my rig. It's placed against the wall near my desk. I'm using two 48GB sticks, which is fine. They aren't that popular, but I'm happy with a total of 64GB. Would you recommend these RAM modules?

Visit the motherboards website and look for the QVL section, typically on the support page. For Intel systems, this is usually reliable because it mentions INTEL XMP, though occasional issues can occur.

It's an Intel i9 14th Gen system with XMP3.0 support. At 6000Mhz, it seems reasonable given your specs of two DIMMs and 64GB RAM. The extra 20% for 6400Mhz would be a small trade-off unless you need the higher clock speed.

I prioritize consistency above all else. Fewer issues mean fewer troubleshooting steps, keeping things smoother with the 6000.
