I was anticipating another Alder Lake situation. It seems Intel might face financial trouble if things keep this way. The best chance would be a calm moment similar to what Linus mentioned in the review. Personally, I don’t think that’s happening—Zen was just a step forward from Bulldozer! Arrow Lake isn’t really an upgrade over Raptor Lake.
I really admire how Intel has handled its performance from the 6th to the 11th generation, and we must keep them in the market. This includes their new dedicated graphics department.
Op, no one dislikes it, not even the ones you connected. They’re called ultra because they include an NPU and mark the beginning of the migration from HT Meteor lake. The first generation with this feature was the initial one to add the NPU, which then removed HT. The NPU is what makes them ultra-like, similar to how AMD uses the AI suffix for their new gen with 40TOP NPUs. Intel had plans for the next few generations, aiming to remove E cores and add Rentable units on P cores for SMT. That future is still uncertain right now. You’ve put your thoughts on the subject. The naming system hasn’t changed—it’s just been reset, moving from i5/i7/i9 to ultra, 5/ultra, 7/ultra, and so on.
I was thinking of getting a 15100f, it would have been a great budget CPU. And a 15900ks too.
The punchline is missing. Could you share the text or sentence you're referring to?
15100f represents a million dollar concept, while 205f denotes a hundred dollar idea.
