Many people dislike Intel Core ultra, it's not as impressive as they think
The announcement of the new Intel Core Ultra could have thrown Intel into a tricky position, according to Gamers Nexus. Testing by Jayztwocents showed even the 245k model isn't impressive, with hardware unboxed highlighting these issues. Despite optimism for Intel's next-gen chips, the poor performance of this chip has been disappointing. Many are wondering if Intel and others should reconsider their focus on AI development. Sources include hardware unboxed, JayzTwoCents, and Gamers Nexus.
Lower power usage and NPU.... It seems more like it's targeted for data centers for AI. But can the power efficiency compete with ARM cpus? Better igpu. But the gamer use a dedicated gpu anyway. I don't see much for the regular home gamer to go buy one (along with new motherboard) really.
The offer of a $600 CPU for the iGPU is definitely worth considering.

They likely changed the name for a reason, otherwise it would be even more ridiculed online. This major architectural shift comes with downsides and won’t show benefits for several generations. Ryzen serves as a clear example, highlighting how poor the previous generation was compared to the 14th. Intel’s struggle with their own 14th generation is evident, especially given the challenges of larger monolithic dies. It’s reassuring they reached a reasonable compromise. I’m looking forward to potential firmware or software upgrades that could push performance past the 14th generation.
