1: No PlanetSide 2 has been running smoothly on the SSD, except for occasional stutters. Every game has started crashing right after I posted the thread. Now it launches, but sometimes it freezes completely, causing other programs to stop. Once it crashed, it displayed a blue screen error. The issue also appeared during Halo Infinite and when launching Master Chief Collection.

3: The blue screen error is present, and Halo Infinite reports "unknown hard error." There was a VRAM issue with Master Chief Collection.

4: Both versions are using the SSD, but performance remains poor.

5: Steam is functioning correctly on the SSD.

6: Storage capacity is 55GB out of 256GB.

7: Testing with and without the drive didn’t help much. The problem mainly affects other apps, not just the PC.

8: I've tried running Helldivers as a workaround; stutter disappeared when using integrated graphics instead.

9: It seems my GPU might be the source of the problem.

This suggests your GPU might be showing signs of wear, especially since the i5 7300HQ indicates age. If you haven’t had it serviced recently, it’s a good idea. On Helldivers, does the frame rate stay at a maximum of 60 or 144 FPS? If not, try limiting it and see if stuttering improves. You can also run a diagnostic tool like WhoCrashed to check for errors in the crash dump file.

Framerate is limited to 60 in Helldivers, still causing some issues. It's not a steady problem across all titles—it's more like my PC sometimes quits and the game drops or freezes briefly, though it doesn’t seem to happen consistently on the IGPU. I’m hoping this gets fixed before the framework 16 is released.

The stutters began about a month ago, but the crashes really kicked in the night I started this post. I attempted to reinstall the drivers, yet the same problems persist. By checking the crash logs in Event Viewer, each entry points to the Faulting module path: C:\WINDOWS\System32\KERNELBASE.dll. I also observed that dwm crashes consistently during these infinite failures, which is unusual.

Ensure your Windows installation is functioning properly. Open Command Prompt with admin privileges and execute the following commands in sequence: DISM /online /cleanup-image /scanhealth, DISM /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth, CHKDSK /F C:, then SFC > CHKDSK > DISM SCAN > DISM RESTORE.

I resolved the issue by adjusting a different game. Warframe crashed because it ran out of virtual memory, so I tweaked those settings and then tried infinite. It worked instantly. The stuttering remains but now it takes longer to start than before, which is another advantage. I’m still unsure what causes the stuttering.
