Hello, I shared a recent update about my gaming experience. Many of my games are experiencing crashes after upgrading my CPU. All drivers—chipset, motherboard, and GPU—are current, and I performed a full Windows reset to help resolve the issue. I also replaced my motherboard as recommended. My power supply is low-wattage, but some games still run smoothly, even during stress tests with both CPU and GPU active. Warzone, Minecraft with shaders, and Cyberpunk are affected, though crashing stops after adjusting my CPU voltage. It seems the problem isn’t tied to timing. A previous suggestion from someone else seemed to help, but I hadn’t tried it yet. Temperatures are normal. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, especially since games like Battlefield 1, Overwatch, and Dead by Daylight are functioning well (though I play them less often). My specs include a Ryzen 5 5600 GTX, Aorus B450 M, 2x8GB RAM, Corsair 350W PSU.

You're referring to a BIOS update upgrade. Most B450 models need one. I don't think I'd install Zen3 on a B450 myself. I haven't heard much about a 1600 Super either. There appears to be some issues with crashes involving Ryzens and Corsair RAM, possibly linked to certain processors and Corsair products. You didn't mention RAM details, but you mentioned using an M.2 drive. Older boards like this sometimes remove support for specific PCIe devices to make room for others due to space limitations in the chip design.

I upgraded my motherboard by swapping it out for a new one since my previous CPU was a Ryzen 5 1600. I used an 1660 model instead of the 1600. I'm using Windows with an SSD drive, not an M.2 one. My RAM is at 2400 MHz, but I'm still able to play other games even though it's lower than that.

The setup uses 2400 MHz RAM in a 2x8 layout. Which brand and model series are you referring to? This can be tricky, but some companies only verify specific kits from particular manufacturers for certain configurations. After the issues with my Asus TUF B550-PLUS, I’m starting to believe there’s a valid explanation. Updated August 7, 2022 by An0maly_76

It's the Corsair Vengeance with basic RAM, running in dual-channel mode. I'll check out your motherboard site.

The 'v' indicates only two socket support, not four. This means your RAM is compatible with two PCIe slots, but not four. It doesn't affect functionality as long as the slot count matches your needs.
