Hey there, so you're using a Ryzen 7 3800X with 32GB RAM and an RTX 2070 Super. You're noticing that your system only uses a handful of threads in games, while others sit idle. That’s pretty unusual. It might not be random—check if your games are optimized for multi-threading or if there’s something in the settings affecting core usage. Opera and other apps running on the same cores could be a clue. You might need to adjust CPU settings or enable specific features to let it utilize more cores properly.
It doesn't require those additional cores and threads when they aren't necessary. Monitoring tools like hwinfo64 or cpu-z are often unnecessary. The task manager is usually inaccurate.
I mostly rely on opera since it keeps open all windows when the app is running and doesn’t close tabs when you stop using it. The gaming news area in Opera GX is also enjoyable.
It's understandable to feel let down. I hoped a powerful CPU would prevent that outcome, but unfortunately it didn't work out. Appreciate your assistance.
