Hello, I searched for help online but found it tough to sift through all the FPS boost discussions. I'm aiming to cap my frame rate at 60, but it's proving more difficult than expected. I'm running a Tekkit Lite server (78mods) with version 1.4.7 Client. The video settings are set to VSync at 60, which causes spikes and is quite frustrating. Performance options for max FPS and balanced are identical, while power-saving mode drops FPS to around 35. Do you know any easy mods that can enforce a specific frame rate? I could just play without restrictions, but it really strains the PC (it's completely passive). Best regards, majestic.

You want only 60 FPS?!?!?!?! I always go at max since with lots of tnt my frames drop from 145 to 76, so I’m usually below 60 FPS. If I stick to 60, it always drops, I put down 9 tnt and I’m in trouble running around at about 23 FPS, so I just keep going at max. There’s no point in lowering it unless you’re aiming for super high FPS like 600, then you can cap it at 100. EDIT: just read the last line, you can fine-tune it, except I’m not sure if it works in the 1.4 version. http://optifine.net/downloads.php btw, Tekkit Lite is a mess.

Adjust the maximum frame rate slider to 60. It looks like your current version lacks this option, so consider using tools like Bandicam or Fraps to cap the FPS.

Some low-end PCs with passive cooling can achieve high frame rates like 60 FPS.

I always capture everything to keep the frame rate stable, but that can slow things down when you're not recording.

It can restrict recording without saving... Just remove the 'only when capturing' option... <_<
