Hi Guys
I have an Asus TUF A17 in Armory Crate. The default profiles are Silent - Performance - Turbo. Turbo and Performance overclock the GPU and CPU, which causes overheating but is fixed by increasing fan speed. I don’t need to overclock the GPU and CPU, so I stick to Silent mode. The temperatures are acceptable and fan noise is minimal.
I want to set up a mode similar to Silent and slightly boost the fans for lower temperatures, even though it means a bit more noise. There are some settings I don’t understand and I can’t find the Silent mode options. I just need settings that keep GPU and CPU at zero overclock.
The temperature ranges are (min / max):
CPU: SPL 15/80 W, SPPT 35/80 W, FPPT 35/80 W
GPU: Base clock offset 0/200 MHz, Memory clock offset 0/300 MHz, Dynamic Boost 5/25 W, Thermal target 75/87C
GPU power saver: default/advanced/extreme
If you’re familiar with Armory Crate, I have another question. Next to the fan spread are 3 buttons labeled 1-2-3 – are those preset fan speeds or three different fans?

And regarding ThrottleStop, it seems a bit advanced to me. I’m not a tech expert, so I’m asking here.
I plan to watch some YouTube videos about it.
What you’re suggesting is to run the Performance mod with better fans and reduce speed using ThrottleStop?
The Silent mode works well since I play GW2, so I don’t need to change my GPU or CPU for that.
I just wish the Silent mode had a bit higher fan speeds to help cool my machine more.
I can set up manual mode in Armory, but as I mentioned earlier, I’m not sure what those settings do.
