Manjaro version 21.2.6.1 (Qonos) fails to detect external monitor using HDMI cable.
Hello everyone, I own a Nitro 5 AN517-41 (details available) which contains: AMD Ryzen 5 5600H at 3.30 GHz and an Nvidia RTX 3060 laptop GPU. I recently upgraded to a brand new PC and chose a Linux distribution—Ubuntu and Manjaro stable versions work for me, but I still face problems. My monitor is an HP 27f IPS FHD FreeSync, and I have two HDMI cables that both function properly. I connect one while using Manjaro, but the system fails to recognize it completely. When I power off, the connection drops instantly. I've tried adjusting display settings and drivers, tested various options, but nothing resolves the issue. I also installed the video-hybrid-amd-nvidia-prime driver and related video modesetting utilities. Could anyone suggest a solution or point me toward helpful guides? Please share any YouTube links, wiki articles, or step-by-step instructions. Feel free to ask any questions for troubleshooting! Best regards, Skir.
What desktop you prefer? You can also try Fedora, as it shares a similar philosophy with Manjaro. Setting up the NVIDIA drivers might need extra steps, and KDE Plasma works better on Manjaro—consider Gnome or XFCE for Fedora.
Already disabled, same problem I shared the results for—I tried them and nothing worked.
I execute sudo update-grub and restart, then my external display operates in lock screen mode, but once I enter the password, the external monitor fails to function.
