When using an Intel laptop with Sandy Bridge or newer CPUs, the command might not work because these processors have their own driver setups for power management. I don’t have enough experience with Manjaro to confirm the details.

I tried changing to performance governor on my i5-8250u. It really helps (I measured matrix multiplication speeds before and after). Edited January 16, 2021 by Alexeygridnev1993 Clarification

I might use the gamemode tool created by Feral. https://github.com/FeralInteractive/gamemode This lets you switch the CPU to performance mode while the app runs, keeping regular power-saving features active when the app isn't in use.
