Seems like a big effort for someone new, but it's worth a shot to recover coins. Updated July 6, 2019 by emilie mistake

It wasn't just a large amount of effort; you also needed to locate a very particular software. I came across one before but later overlooked it once I didn’t require it.

Skip the Manjaro restore. How can I recover my wallet without a seed phrase?

Reinstall this setup, but it seems very difficult. You probably don’t need to lose anything—just copy your files from a working disc. What encryption method were you using? Also, keep copies of vital papers like this, particularly if you plan to test or modify your system...

If long-chmod wasn't recursive, you might still resolve it by using a live USB from another Linux distribution. Apply chroot at https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/chroot#Using chroot on it and adjust permissions with chmod 755 /*. Then update grub.
