Asus Tuf FX505DY paired with Ryzen 5 3550H and Radeon 560, 8GB RAM, 256GB drive. Performance remains steady at 31 seconds. System freezes entirely.

I’m using Windows 10 by default. The laptop is brand new, aside from the Steam and GOG installations. I’ve tried resetting USB ports but haven’t seen any changes. This time I’ll attempt to boot from a Kubuntu installation.

Tried Kubuntu in both ISO and Dd image formats. Both systems froze during startup. This suggests the issue isn’t with Linux or the storage devices. It points toward the etching software (Rufus 3.11), BIOS settings, or the existing operating system—Windows 10. Given other challenges I’ve faced and similar complaints from others, Windows 10 seems likely. In roughly two months, I plan to upgrade to a larger drive and add more RAM, without reinstalling Windows 10.
